Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble 馃

        Thanksgiving is a North American holiday that is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States, and the third Thursday of October in Canada. In conversation class the week of November 15th, we learned the story of the first Thanksgiving, which involves how the Pilgrims left Plymouth, England in the year 1620 and landed in what is now the Northeastern United States. We learned about traditional Thanksgiving foods like turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie, and talked about the first Thanksgiving dinner with the Native American Indians and Pilgrims at Plymouth rock. During the week of November 22nd, we talked about what we are most thankful for in our lives… family, friends, school, and more!

Farm Animals

  We are continuing with animals in our Bilingual Bicultural project! The 1st grade students have created a beautiful farm with various farm animals. Through this activity we have learned the names of farm animals, their sounds and the different parts of each animal, all accompanied with songs related to this topic! They had a great time!  En nuestro Proyecto Bicultural seguimos trabajando los animales, en esta ocasi贸n con los alumnos de 1潞 de Primaria que han realizado una bonita granja con sus animales. A trav茅s de esta actividad hemos conocido los nombres de los animales que viven en la granja, su sonidos, las diferentes partes de cada animal y todo ello acompa帽ado de divertidas canciones relacionadas con esta tem谩tica. ¡Lo han pasado genial!

Recycled materials

En 5潞 de Primaria, los estudiantes est谩n trabajando en la asignatura de Ingl茅s los materiales reciclados a partir de un divertido "Challenge".  Este proyecto nace con la intenci贸n de que nuestro alumnos alcancen los siguientes objetivos: Aprender en qu茅 consiste el reciclaje y su proceso para utilizarlo en casa y en clase. Seleccionar los residuos que generamos en la vida diaria.  Disminuir la contaminaci贸n para la conservaci贸n de plantas y animales.  Aprender a valorar el medio ambiente mediante su conservaci贸n.  Concienciar del cuidado de nuestro entorno. Pr贸ximamente el resto de niveles pondr谩n visitar un museo creado e ideado por ellos mismos.  ¡Estos chicos son unos artistas! Halloween

Happy Halloween! 馃懟馃崿       During the weeks of October 18 th  and October 25 th , each grade in primary made a different craft related to Halloween. We made cotton bud skeletons, paper pumpkins, cats, balloon aliens, hand witches, yarn spider webs, and more! In conversation class, we learned a lot about the tradition of Halloween and how it has evolved from what it first was in the 18 th  century to what we know it as today. We learned about the ancient Irish Celts, All Saints Day, end of autumn celebrations, jack o´ lanterns, trick or treating, and other common traditions.
