Carnival: Sea and farm animals

 

This week in our Bilingual Bicultural Project session, taking advantage of the carnival celebration and our unit about animals, younger primary students have made masks of different animals. Thus practicing the vocabulary related to the farm in 1st, 2nd and  and to marine animals in 3rd.

.

Esta semana en nuestra sesión de proyecto Bicultural Bilingüe, aprovechando la celebración de carnaval y nuestra unidad acerca de los animales, los alumnos de los primeros cursos de la etapa de Primaria han elaborado  mascarillas de diferentes animales. Practicando así el vocabulario de la granja en 1º,  2º y animales marinos en 3º.

Farm Animals

  We are continuing with animals in our Bilingual Bicultural project! The 1st grade students have created a beautiful farm with various farm animals. Through this activity we have learned the names of farm animals, their sounds and the different parts of each animal, all accompanied with songs related to this topic! They had a great time!  En nuestro Proyecto Bicultural seguimos trabajando los animales, en esta ocasión con los alumnos de 1º de Primaria que han realizado una bonita granja con sus animales. A través de esta actividad hemos conocido los nombres de los animales que viven en la granja, su sonidos, las diferentes partes de cada animal y todo ello acompañado de divertidas canciones relacionadas con esta temática. ¡Lo han pasado genial!

Jane Goodall. A famous scientist and researcher.

In our Bilingual Bicultural project the 2nd grade students are continuing with animal related activities. Taking advantage of Women's day they also learned about Jane Goodall and her research about chimps.  Los alumnos de 2º de Primaria en nuestro Proyecto Bicultural, siguiendo con las actividades relacionadas con los animales y aprovechando el Día Internacional de la Mujer, han conocido a Jane Goodall y su investigación sobre los chimpancés.  What an interesting science class! ¡Una clase sobre científicas muy interesante!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble   🦃           Thanksgiving is a North American holiday that is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States, and the third Thursday of October in Canada. In conversation class the week of November 15 th , we learned the story of the first Thanksgiving, which involves how the Pilgrims left Plymouth, England in the year 1620 and landed in what is now the Northeastern United States. We learned about traditional Thanksgiving foods like turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie, and talked about the first Thanksgiving dinner with the Native American Indians and Pilgrims at Plymouth rock. During the week of November 22 nd , we talked about what we are most thankful for in our lives… family, friends, school, and more!
